MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) - Detectives from Indiana State Police continue to investigate the homicide of 94-year-old Samuel H. Kessler of Ladoga, Indiana.
Police said Kessler was found dead in his home around noon at 8737 East State Road 234, near Ladoga on January 29, 2012.
A business acquaintance of Kessler's was unable to reach him, and stopped by the home to check on him.
The man found Kessler dead in his bedroom, with a wound to his body. Police said the house was ransacked, but it's unclear whether anything was taken.
Montgomery County Coroner David Hunt confirmed his manner of death as a homicide and the cause of death as a gunshot wound.
Police are still continuing to search for information on a dark-colored, full-size pickup truck, allegedly seen in the victim’s driveway during the early to mid evening hours of Saturday, January 28, 2012.
Ladoga area residents who were in the area of the crime scene or out and about in the town of Ladoga, are urged to recall their activities on the evening of January 28 and attempt to remember any suspicious persons, vehicles, or “anything out of the ordinary”.
