LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Lafayette police were busy with two shots fired investigations on the city's north side Wednesday night.

Police were called to North 24th Street around 8 p.m., where a house had reportedly been shot at. Officers said it looked like shots were fired at the home and neighbors reported hearing gunshots. However, police have not confirmed if shots were actually fired.

While officers were investigating, they were called to the 2100 block of N. 19th Street. Lt. Perry Amos said after an altercation, a woman reported that her boyfriend had shot a gun into her home, near her front door.

The boyfriend was later found at his grandparents' house on Elk Street. He was taken into custody and faces a preliminary charge of criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon.

Police do not believe the two cases are related.
