Lafayette police investigate armed bank robbery

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Lafayette police are searching for an armed bank robber.

Officers said it happened around 5:30 p.m. Friday at the Lafayette Savings Bank branch at 833 Twyckenham Boulevard.

Police said one man was involved. He is described as a white male, approximately 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall. Police believe he is between 30 to 45 years old.  Police said he was last seen wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt, sunglasses and camouflaged pants.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Lafayette Police Department at (765) 807-1200 or the anonymous WeTip Hotline at 1 (800) 78-CRIME.
