TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) - A Lafayette man now faces multiple felonies after police say he led them on a high-speed chase through Tippecanoe and White counties this weekend. And another man is on the run - and police need your help finding him.

According to court documents, 20-year-old Corey Kirts has been charged with five felonies and a misdemeanor, including burglary, theft and resisting law enforcement.

It started just before 5 p.m. Saturday when police were called to a home on Stillwell Street for a reported burglary.

Residents told officers that Kirts had threatened to break in.

About 40 minutes later police got a call that Kirts was pointing a firearm at someone and had left the scene in a gold Lincoln.

Officers tracked the car from State Road 26, to I- 65, to State Road 43, where officers tried to pull Kirts over.

But Kirts took off, hitting speeds at more than 100 miles per hour. He crashed the car in Brookston.

Kirts was taken to IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

A minor in the back seat was taken to the hospital for examination.

A third passenger in the car, Zachary Collins, fled the scene. Collins was featured in this week's Fugitive Search. If you have any information on his whereabouts, call Lafayette police at 765-807-1200 or the anonymous WeTip Hotline at 800-78-CRIME.
