LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Police believe the incident that resulted in the murder of Jeremy Gibson began as an argument between Gibson and one of the suspects.
According to the affidavit of probable cause filed in the case, all three suspects - Antonio Williams, CarolAnn Clear, and Darren Englert - lived with Gibson at a residence at 1018 North 8th Street.
Gibson and Williams began arguing with each other and Englert and Williams assaulted Gibson during the course of that argument, according to the affidavit. No information has been released about the subject of that argument.
The affidavit states that the three suspects then confined Gibson in a vehicle and traveled out of town, stopping at a Tippecanoe County residence to pick up tools.
According to the affidavit, Williams drove the vehicle to an area out in the country, where the suspects used the tools to assault and kill Gibson before concealing the body.
Police have located remains in rural Tippecanoe County which they believe belong to Gibson, though they have not been identified.
