CELINA, Ohio (WANE) A Fort Recovery High School teacher was arrested on Wednesday on a charge of sexual batter, a third degree felony.

The victims and her family called the Mercer County Sheriff's Department on Monday afternoon. The Sheriff's Department began an investigation into accounting teacher and former girls basketball coach, Christopher A. Summers, 32. The Sheriff's Department found that Summers knew the victim from school and that they had an almost three year relationship.

The sexual battery Summer is accused of happened at his residence and at a hotel in a nearby county.

Sheriff Jeff Grey said he has no reason to believe there was any criminal conduct on school grounds or during school events. Grey also said they did not know of any other victims.

The investigation is ongoing. The Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office is reviewing the case to determine what, if any, additional charges should be filed.
