LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Two people are facing drug charges this week after police say they were found with crack cocaine and heroin during a traffic stop in Lafayette.
According to Lafayette police, at about 9:30 p.m. Thursday officers pulled a vehicle over near the intersection of Union Street and Hedgewood Drive.
Over the course of the traffic stop, with the assistance of LPD K-9 Tommy, officers found more than 8 grams of crack cocaine and more than 2 grams of heroin inside the car.
The driver, 32-year-old Jeffrey P. Pellegrino of Lafayette, and the passenger, 23-year-old Kelly M. Tyson of West Point, were arrested.
Pellegrino was charged with dealing and possession of heroin and dealing and possession of cocaine.
Tyson was charged with possession of cocaine.
