Newton County man linked to 13-month-old boy's death

BROOK, Ind. (WLFI) - A Newton County man is linked to the death of a 13-month-old boy.

The Newton County Sheriff’s Office says Wednesday night at 10:55, officers with the Brook Police Department, along with the sheriff’s office, began investigating the death of the baby.

Investigators took 34-year-old Francisco Villegas, Jr., of Brook into custody and charged him with neglect of a dependant, a Class A felony.

The investigation is ongoing at this time.
