WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Police said the mother of an infant who was struck in the head by his father faces multiple drug charges.
21-year-old Danielle Chamberlain of West Lafayette has been charged with possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia and maintaining a common nuisance.
Police said Chamberlain is the mother of the 17-day-old infant who was struck by 18-year-old Brendan Bell earlier this month.
According to court documents, Bell told police the infant got fussy during a car ride on Oct. 6. Bell told investigators his attempts to calm the baby were not working so he hit the baby several times in the face.
Chamberlain was arrested on Oct. 7, the same day Bell was arrested for causing serious bodily injury and neglect of a dependent.
