MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) - After menacing messages were left on the Montgomery County Courthouse voicemail for Superior Court 1, investigators detained and later arrested a possible offender.
According to Sheriff Mark Casteel, at roughly 8:30 Tuesday morning, the sheriff’s office was made aware that threatening messages were left on the voicemail of the courthouse, and that they were directed toward Judge David Ault.
The sheriff’s office and the Crawfordsville Police Department responded to the courthouse. Additional security measures were put into place and investigation began on the part of the sheriff’s Investigations Unit.
An arrest warrant was issued and served upon 44-year-old Ronald Oscar Treadway of Westville, Ill. The warrant charges three counts of Intimidation (D Felony) and has a $3,000 cash bond.
Right now Treadway is incarcerated in the Vermilion County, Ill., Jail pending extradition hearings.
The Montgomery County Courthouse will remain open and continue to conduct business as usual.
