KOKOMO, Ind. (WLFI) - A factory worker was arrested after he allegedly stole thousands of pounds of metal from a Kokomo factory.

Indiana State Police and Indiana State Troopers started a criminal investigation on 50-year-old Glen Alexander of Kokomo after a supervisor at the Haynes International North Plant received an anonymous email. The email stated Alexander was stealing valuable metals from the factory.

An inventory revealed thousands of pounds of the metals were missing.

Police said Alexander stole the metal over several months and would transport it to a metal scrap facility in Chicago for cash.

Alexander was arrested on a class D felony charge of theft.

Officials from Haynes International valued the recovered metal at almost $15,000.

Alexander had worked for Haynes International for about 30 years.
