Man faces several heroin-based charges

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Tippecanoe County Drug Task Force detectives and Lafayette police officers arrested and charged a man this week for dealing narcotics.

According to the Lafayette Police Department (LPD), early Wednesday morning around 1, detectives conducted an investigation in the area of 14th and Kossuth streets in Lafayette. They were trying to find 26-year-old Rayshon D. White, who was wanted on a warrant for dealing heroin.

The warrant stemmed from an investigation in which White sold heroin to an undercover detective on at least two occasions in late 2012.

The drug task force had been informed that White was near 14th and Kossuth. He has a previous conviction in Tippecanoe County for dealing cocaine or a narcotic drug.

White was located by uniformed officers from LPD and arrested without incident. Upon further search, more than 3 grams of heroin was found, along with a small amount of marijuana and items related to the distribution of illegal narcotics.

White was charged with the warrant for dealing heroin (a Class A felony), plus additional charges of dealing heroin, possession of heroin and possession of marijuana.
