MUNCIE, Ind. (WISH) - A Delaware County man arrested last week has been arrested more than 100 times in that county.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Office officials said 53-year-old Tony Irvin McKinley has been arrested 136 times since 1977. Many of the arrests have been tied to alcohol.

McKinley was most recently arrested Wednesday after an incident at a furniture store, where he was accused of cursing at employees.

Scott Winingar, owner of Mattress USA, says he called police when McKinley became belligerent in his store.

“I said, ‘You are intoxicated. I can smell it from halfway across the store.’ I said, ‘Dude, you need to slow down, you have to go out of the store because you are drunk.’ He became verbally loud, cussing,” Winingar said.

When he was taken to a hospital before being taken to jail, he was repeatedly threatening to kick, kill and spit on people, according to police.

On Wednesday he was arrested on preliminary charges of intimidation, resisting law enforcement, public intoxication and disorderly conduct.

The 136 arrest came after McKinley turned 56 years old.  Police suspect even more arrests.
