Nine people were arrested early Monday in Newton County on drug-related arrest warrants.
The Indiana State Police-led operation was a result of a six-month undercover operation by officers from the Indiana State Police, Newton County Sheriff's Department, Kentland Police Department, and Morocco Police Department.
The sweep began at 4:30 a.m. All defendants were remanded to the Newton County Jail in lieu of bond.
The following individuals were arrested in this operation:
- Susanna Woolsey, Morocco, IN. Charged with dealing marijuana within 1000 feet of a park (felony).
- Jay Miller, Kentland, IN. Charged with dealing marijuana over 30 grams (felony).
- Jonathan P. Hutchins, Kentland, IN. Charged with dealing a Schedule IV controlled substance (felony), dealing a Schedule III controlled substance (felony), maintaining a common nuisance (felony), and dealing marijuana over 30 grams (felony).
- Ramiro Martinez, Kentland, IN. Charged with dealing cocaine within 1000 feet of a park (felony), dealing cocaine in excess of three grams (felony).
- Theodore V. Scheidler, Kentland, IN. Charged with dealing marijuana (misdemeanor & felony).
- Brian Downey, Kentland, IN. Charged with dealing marijuana in excess of 30 grams (felony), maintaining a common nuisance (felony).
- Cory Anderson, Kentland, IN. Charged with dealing marijuana in excess of 30 grams (felony), maintaining a common nuisance (felony).
- Andrew J. Bouse, Kentland, IN. Charged with dealing cocaine (felony), possession of cocaine (felony), conspiracy to distribute cocaine (felony).
- Paul A. Tyson, Lake Village, IN. Charged with dealing marijuana in excess of 30 grams (felony).
