Laf shooting: Person of interest sought

Sheriff's dept. searchs for "Sparks"

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - The Tippecanoe County Sheriff's Department is looking for a person of interest for questioning in a shooting yesterday, November 5, 2009 at the Emerald Pines Apartment Complex.

Lieutenant Dan McGrew said a black male, who goes by the nickname of "Sparks", was invited into the apartment by a female acquaintance who she had met at Riehle Brothers. They believe "Sparks" is between 5' 8" and 6" tall and about 180 pounds with a muscular build. He was last seen wearing a red shirt, blue jeans and a dark New York Yankees baseball hat. The female acquaintance believes "Sparks" frequents Riehle Brothers.

24-year-old William Shawn Wise of Lafayette was shot in the chest after an argument. Lieutenant McGrew said they believe Wise was shot outside of the apartment. Wise is in serious condition at Home Hospital.
