LAFAYETTE, Ind (WLFI) - Lafayette Police are asking for the public's help in tracking down a man who failed to show up for sentencing in a drug case.

Danny Walter Campbell is the subject of this week's Fugitive Search. He is a 43 year old white male. He's 5'11", 165 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

Lafayette Police Detective Matt Devine said this case started with the street crimes unit in August 2008. "And one of the narcotics officers arranged to purchase what he thought to be methamphetamine, and he purchased the substance," said Devine. "Mr. Campbell was arrested at that time for dealing methamphetamine. When the substance was sent to the lab, it turned out not to be methamphetamine."  Campbell pleaded guilty to Dealing in a Misrepresented Substance. He failed to show up for sentencing on May 13th in Tippecanoe Superior Court II. Campbell was facing up to three years in prison in that case.
