LAFAYETTE, Ind (WLFI) - Just hours after a fugitive was featured on News Channel 18, the Tippecanoe County Sheriff's department received a tip on his whereabouts.
Lafayette Police Detective Matt Devine said Levi Foster, 23, was arrested at 10:00 p.m. Thursday night. A story about Foster being wanted on warrant aired in the 6:00 p.m. news.
The Tippecanoe County Sheriff's Department said dispatch received the tip, which led officers to the apartment complex on US 52 West. Sgt. Bob Brewer said no one answered the door, so officers obtained a search warrant. Foster was later found inside.
Foster was convicted of a 2004 attempted robbery. Devine said an arrest warrant was issued for Foster after he failed to complete road crew. Road crew was part of Foster's sentence in the case.
