Lafayette man arrested for rape
Donald Phelps Sr. also faces confinement charge

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Police arrested a Lafayette man for rape Friday at a residence on the city's south side.
Donald J. Phelps, Sr., 43, also faces charges of criminal confinement, battery domestic battery and two counts of criminal deviate behavior.
According to the Lafayette Police Department, officers responded to a domestic disturbance call on the east side of Lafayette on Tuesday morning around 11:00 a.m. There they found a 52-year-old woman was injured and Phelps was involved.
The woman was taken to a local hospital, treated for her injuries, and released.
The Tippecanoe County Prosecutor's Office filed formal charges against Phelps and issued an arrest warrant Friday.
Phelps is being held at the Tippecanoe County Jail.
