LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Lafayette police responded to a shots fired call late Tuesday night.
Police were dispatched to Claystone at the Crossing apartments around 10:30 p.m. Lieutenant Tom Davidson said police recovered 12 shell casings. He said nobody was hit during the shooting.
Police haven't taken anybody into custody. Davidson said the incident is still under investigation.
"We don't know of any motivating factors of why this took place. We're not getting a lot of cooperation out here as well," said Davidson.
Davidson said police are searching for a black male, wearing all black clothing, and medium to tall height.
He said if you have any information, you're asked to call Lafayette Police at 765-807-1200 or the anonymous We-Tip hotline at 1-800-78-CRIME.
