Lafayette Police Department stands up for officer's actions

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - After meeting Tuesday morning, the Lafayette Police Department Shooting Review Board came to the conclusion that the use of deadly force employed by an officer was justified and within department policy.
The board convened to investigate the deaths of Joel Hershman and Steven K. Mosely last week after a chase and shooting near IHOP in Lafayette. You can read our original story here.
The Review Board concluded its review around 4 p.m., recommending to Police Chief Patrick Flannelly that the use of a gun employed by Officer Donna Gregorash was justified. The Chief agreed with the board.
The police department will hold a press conference at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Board of Works Room in Lafayette City Hall to discuss the facts and circumstances involved in the incident.
