LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - A Lafayette man is convicted on several charges related to the raid of a methamphetamine lab last year.
Prosecutors say after a two-day jury trial in Tippecanoe County Circuit Court, 32- year- old Michael Toney was found guilty of ten charges, including dealing in meth, possession of meth, and serious violent felon in possession of a firearm.
As NewsChannel 18 reported last September, Lafayette police were serving a warrant to Toney at a house on South 18th Street, when officers noticed items used to make methamphetamine. They also detected the smell of the drug.
According to court documents, after a protective sweep of the house, officers found meth, paraphernalia as well as a shotgun and a pistol between the mattresses of the bed.
Toney's sentencing is scheduled for August 31.
