LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - A Lafayette man has been found guilty of murdering his childhood friend with a baseball bat.
Tippecanoe County Prosecutor Pat Harrington says 26-year-old Jeremy Knoy faces 45 to 65 years in prison when he is sentenced next month.
Harrington says a Superior Court jury deliberated for about three-and-a-half hours this afternoon before finding Knoy guilty.
Knoy was charged with murder after he told police he hit 26-year-old Derek Liphard with a bat in December of 2008 at a house at 2312 North 19th Street.
