Judge: Dad not guilty in girlfriend, baby murders

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The man accused of killing his girlfriend and their baby in a fire was found not guilty Wednesday morning.

Joshwa Carlisle waived a jury but had a trial in front of a judge. The judge on Wednesday delivered a not guilty verdict in a Marion County court.

Tracie Shannon, 25, and her baby, 9-month-old Juliana, died in the fire in Lawrence in September 2010 . It happened in the 5000 block of Old Colony Road at Hunt Club Apartments.

Evidence at the scene indicated to investigators that the area around the woman and baby had accelerant.
