LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Three Tecumseh Junior High students have been arrested for fighting with a Lafayette Jeff High School student.

According to the Lafayette Police Department (LPD), the fight happened a few weeks ago when the students were waiting for their buses after school.

The fight broke out after some words were exchanged.

Police say the victim, a high school student, reported it when he got home.

After some investigation by the school resource officer, the three juveniles were arrested Friday.

According to police reports a 12 year old and two 13 year olds were arrested for battery resulting in bodily injury.

Police say some photographs were taken of the victim's injuries but none of those injuries were life-threatening.

Lafayette School Corporation Superintendent Les Huddle says the three Tecumseh students have been suspended.
