WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Officers say they have arrested the man who fired shots at Nick’s Night Club in West Lafayette on December 5.

"We are certain that Mr. Bacon is responsible for the shooting of Mr. Harrison,” said West Lafayette Police Lieutenant Troy Harris.

On December 5 shots were fired at Nick's Nightclub in West Lafayette. 22-year-old Antwain Harrison was hit and, according to police, is now paralyzed.

Lieutenant Harris said 20-year-old Curtis Bacon is not in the surveillance video, and the weapon in question has not been found, but eye-witnesses have come forward saying Bacon was the trigger-man.

Harris said the question now is: "Why did Bacon allegedly shoot Harrison?"

"We do not necessarily think that the shooting was gang related. However, we do believe a lot of the people there that night do have ties to Indianapolis gangs," said Harris.

Harris said even though the people involved were not local, this shooting serves as the reminder gang activity is.

"It is something law enforcement has to be cognizant of and gangs are here and we know that," said Harris.

Bacon faces preliminary charges of aggravated battery. Harris said investigator’s findings will be forwarded on to the Tippecanoe County prosecutors office.

Curtis Bacon is in the Marion County jail, waiting to be extradited to Tippecanoe County. He is being held on a $100,000 bond.
