LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - A Williamsport man who cannot legally drive is in trouble with the law after a road rage incident involving the West Lafayette police chief.
Chief Jason Dombkowski said he was in his unmarked vehicle trying to make a left turn into a Sagamore Parkway business on Aug. 2, when he was nearly hit head-on by a car driven by Dennis Funk, 37.
Dombkowski said he pointed his finger, shook his head and then turned left.
He said Funk followed him into the business parking lot, cutting across several lanes of traffic, then walked up to Dombkowski's car.
Funk first claimed his wife was driving, then admitted he was the driver.
Funk is a Habitual Traffic Offender and forfeited his driving privileges in 2003.
He faces a felony charge of Operating a motor vehicle while privileges are forfeited for life.
