TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) - Multiple gunshots were reported Tuesday night in Tippecanoe County.

Sheriff’s deputies said it happened on Windemere Drive at Briarwood Apartments around 10:30 p.m.  Witnesses told officers anywhere from five to 10 shots were fired after two groups of people got into an altercation.

Authorities said most of the people involved got away.  They are believed to be black males under the age of 30.  One person was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.  Deputies said the fight is possibly gang related.

As of late Tuesday night, no bullet casings had been found.  Officers said witnesses they interviewed were being uncooperative.  The case remains under investigation.
