FRANKFORT, Ind. (WLFI) - A Frankfort man was arrested on several charges after police interrupted a burglary in progress.
According to Frankfort Deputy Chief Randy Emery, Frankfort police were called to an active alarm at Schulz IGA at 656 W. Walnut St. at 3:39 a.m. Saturday. The intitial responding officers found evidence of a burglary and entered the business.
There they found 18-year-old Ty C. Wilkerson, and took him into custody. Wilkerson told police he had an accomplice in the business, armed with a gun. Frankfort SWAT was called to the scene, as well as a K9 unit from the Clinton County Sheriff's Office, according to Emery.
A second suspect was not found after the SWAT team cleared the business and warehouse. Video surveillance later showed only Wilkerson in the business.
Wilkerson was arrested for burglary, theft, illegal consumption, public intoxication and obstruction of justice.
