Former coach guilty of child seduction

MONTICELLO, Ind. (WLFI) - A former wrestling coach at Twin Lakes High School will face prison time for what police called inappropriate behavior.

27-year-old Scott Hardy of Monticello pleaded guilty Friday to felony charges of child seduction and theft. Hardy was formerly the varsity wrestling coach at Twin Lakes and a special education teacher at Roosevelt Middle School.

He was arrested in January, after parents and students called Twin Lakes administrators with allegations of inappropriate conduct between Hardy and a 16-year-old girl.

White County Prosecutor Bob Guy said Hardy hopes to receive a plea bargain that would give him 1.5 years in prison, followed by two years on probation. The sentencing hearing is set for January 9.
