LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - A 58-year-old man found guilty of killing his fiancée on their wedding day will most likely spend the rest of his life in behind bars.
Steven R. Farrell has been sentenced to 83 years in prison, the maximum sentence. He also received a suspended sentence of two years supervised probation.
Benton Circuit Court staff said Farrell received the maximum sentence for the murder of 40-year-old Christine Craig and another 20 years for being a felon in possession of a handgun.
Craig died of a single gun shot wound to her shoulder after a confrontation with Farrell in Otterbein in November 2009.
Farrell was found guilty in October of this year of the 2009 murder of Craig. Farrell pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a handgun.
