LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - A man convicted of possessing cocaine and being a habitual substance offender is the subject of this week's Fugitive Search.
Jerome Anthony Greer is a 34-year-old black male. He is 5'9", 215 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
Lafayette Police Detective Matt Devine said this case started as a traffic stop on Main Street in February 2007. He said officers pulled over the vehicle because it had a loud muffler.
"Checking the driver's status, the officer found the driver was suspended," said Devine. "He began the process of towing the car and located some marijuana in the vehicle. The driver and the passenger were charged with possession of marijuana. One of the occupants went to jail. When he was booked into the jail he was found to have cocaine hidden in his person."
Jerome Greer later plead guilty to possession of cocaine and being a habitual substance offender.
Last month a warrant was issued seeking to revoke Greer's probation.
Detective Devine said the petition was filed because Greer failed to maintain contact with the probation department.
