ANDERSON, Ind. (AP) - A teenager has been sentenced to 150 years in prison for his role in the shooting deaths of a central Indiana couple.
A Madison County judge sentenced 18-year Martez Brown during a court hearing Monday for the November 2010 slayings of 25-year-old Stephen Streeter and his 24-year-old girlfriend Keya Prince. Two others have received similar sentences for killing the couple during a robbery in Prince's Anderson home.
The Herald Bulletin reports Brown has a history of property-related crimes since age 12. Prosecutors say the three defendants took $7,000, marijuana, a video game console and a television in the robbery and then went on a shopping spree.
Judge David Happe says he considered Brown's lack of remorse and cooperation in setting the sentence.
Brown said he planned to appeal.
