Officers served the search warrants at 5:30 a.m. and seized a handgun, about 40 grams of heroin, 40 to 50 grams of cocaine and $5,100 in cash. Police officials estimate the street value of the drugs to be nearly $20,000.
“We believe that these arrests will have a significant impact on the availability of crack cocaine and heroin in Bloomington,” Bloomington Police Chief Michael Diekhoff said in a news release.
Significant activity at the apartment complex at night was one of various details of the case that investigators noted. The suspects facing the most serious charges have addresses connected to Detroit and Battle Creek, Mich.
Suspects facing felony charges are Nicole Berry, Dwayne Fredrick, Ray Fredricks, William Holloway and Larry Johnson. The six other suspects — Shannon Bell, Tina Berry, Joseph Blythe, Brandy Deckard, Tracy Gifford and Cassandria Roy — face misdemeanor charges.
