MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) - A jury has convicted an Anderson man in connection with an attack on an Indiana Excise Police officer at a Muncie music venue.
Nineteen-year-old Branden Lee Farmer was found guilty Monday of battery on law enforcement, battery with bodily injury, and misdemeanor disorderly conduct. Sentencing is set for Sept. 15. He's being held on $20,000 bond at the Delaware County Jail. Jail records don't indicate whether he has an attorney.
Excise Police Cpl. Travis Thickstun says several people attacked the officer as he made an arrest at Doc's Music Hall in March. Thickstun says Farmer jumped on the officer's back and punched him in the back of the head. Thickstun didn't release the officer's name or describe his injuries.
Trial dates are pending for three other defendants in the case.
