FRANKFORT, Ind. (WLFI) - Police raided an active methamphetamine lab in Frankfort Monday evening.
Frankfort Police Chief Troy Bacon said it all started as a shoplifting call. Officers were called to the CVS Pharmacy on Walnut Street around 4:00 p.m Monday afternoon.
Bacon said the items stolen were suspicious and included things commonly used to make meth. That’s when drug investigators stepped in.
The investigation led police to a home at 251 Wabash Street, where officers found an active meth lab inside a duffel bag. Police took 32-year-old Shawn Burton into custody. He's currently being held in the Clinton County Jail.
Frankfort police called the Indiana State Police to help dismantle the meth lab.
Chief Bacon said the case is still under investigation and it’s not clear at this time if anyone else was involved.
