TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) - News 18 received word from the Tippecanoe and Carroll County Sheriff Offices shortly after 5 a.m. Monday that 911 lines were down. The exact cause of the outage is not known at this time.
Carroll County's 911 line was back up as of 9:03 a.m. Monday. Tippecanoe's was back up as of 8:56 a.m.
For those living within Lafayette city limits, whenever there is an outage, you can contact the Lafayette Police Department at (765) 807-1200 for emergencies. If you live outside of city limits in Tippecanoe County you can call the sheriff's office at (765) 423-9321.
Cell phones were still able to call 911 directly in Tippecanoe County.
