5-month undercover investigation results in multiple arrests

KENTLAND, Ind. (WLFI) - After conducting a five-month-long undercover drug investigation, officers arrested several suspected dealers in the Kentland, Brook and Goodland areas.

Officers purchased marijuana, hashish, cocaine, and various types of controlled substances on multiple occasions during the course of the investigation.

11 felony warrants were issued and all but two of the suspects were taken into custody.

Nine adults and two juveniles were arrested in Newton and Benton Counties and two adults were arrested by Illinois departments.

After searching a house at 314 W. Seymour in Kentland, officers recovered marijuana, cocaine and various prescription pills.

The Kentland Town Marshal Vince Lowe coordinated the operation and announced the multi-agency cooperation was key to their success.

27 law enforcement officers from 11 different agencies in Indiana and Illinois were involved in the investigation.

The juveniles were charged with dealing marijuana.

The adults involved were charged as follows:

Kelly D Armstrong (42) Kentland-Dealing Controlled Substance A-Felony, Possession of Cocaine B-Felony, Dealing Marijuana D-Felony, Maintaining a Common Nuisance D-Felony, Obstruction of Justice D-Felony. Bond $60,000.

Cheryl L Minix (45) Rensselaer- Maintaining a Common Nuisance D-Felony. Bond $25,000.

Charlene M Hofmeyer (20) Kentland- Dealing Marijuana C-Felony. Bond $35,000.

Carlos R Rivas (31) Brook- Dealing Cocaine A-Felony. Bond $60,000.

Amanda L Gray (27) Goodland- Maintaining a Common Nuisance D-Felony, Possession of Paraphernalia A-Misdemeanor. Bond $ 25,000.

John M Woods (26) Goodland- Dealing Hashish C-Felony. Bond $35,000.

Anthony J Pescetto (29) Kentland- Maintaining a Common Nuisance D-Felony. Bond $25,000.

Randy N Jolley (52) Kentland-Maintaining a Common Nuisance D-Felony, Possession of Controlled Substance C-Felony. Bond $70,000.

Nicholas J Wooten (24) Kentland- Dealing Marijuana C-Felony. Bond $ 35,000.

Dylan J Clingenpeel (21) Hoopeston IL-Dealing Marijuana C-Felony. Bond $35,000.
