INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - A 1-year-old girl was hospitalized Wednesday morning after accidentally drinking mouth wash, an Indianapolis Metropolitan police report said.
Hospital blood tests revealed the girl had a .018 BAC.
The report said the child was left in the care of a 17-year-old juvenile on Tuesday. The caretaker, the child’s grandmother, came home at 7 p.m. The mother was at work. The teen told the grandmother that while cleaning, she lost sight of the child and found her with an orange mouth wash bottle opened but didn’t know if she drank from it. The juvenile also told her grandmother she slept longer than usual, had trouble waking her and seemed lethargic.
No arrests were made during the investigation.
