Flora - Residents and even people from surrounding communities bundled up in 30 degree weather to watch the annual Christmas Parade. Six-year-old Flora resident Emma Hardin said she had a great time.
"I liked it because I saw my friends and it made me happy and it was lots of noise and it was cool," said Hardin.
Other parade goers say the show is important for the community.
"It was great. They had a lot of team spirit in the whole thing I thought," said Theresa Freeman, a Flora resident.
"My older daughter was in it this year so I like to watch her ride the horses," said Lisa Roberts, a Clinton County resident.
"It gives the community a chance to get together and share some of the pre-Christmas sprit. I think everybody showed a great face today despite the fact that it was cold. The kids certainly enjoyed it and not to mention that I did too," said Brook Davis, a Colfax resident.
Another fun part of the parade for the kids was seeing Santa Claus come to town. Area children sat on Old Saint Nick's lap for a photograph and a book, provided by the Flora Psi Iota Pi organization. Camden resident Beth Lazarus said her girls get excited around this time of year.
"There's a woods behind out house and so we see deer quite often. So, they're excited because Santa Claus' reindeer are checking up on them. They want everything princess this year for Christmas," said Lazarus.
