INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said an intruder was fatally shot on the city's west side Friday morning.
Shortly after 6 a.m. Friday, police received a call that someone had kicked in the door of a residence in the 7600 block of Wyckford Court. That is in a neighborhood just west of West 10th Street and North Girls School Road. Officers found one person fatally shot.
Police officials also say there were children at the home, but none were injured.
Police said the resident of the apartment where the shooting occurred had a protective order against the victim, her ex-boyfriend. Friday morning, it had yet to be determined who fired the gun.
IMPD said there was no continuing danger to the public.
