INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Gov. Mitch Daniels' final batch of recommended reading includes a conservative critique of America's working class and Henry Kissinger's most recent treatise on China.
Daniels released his eighth and final Christmas book list this week, continuing the tradition before he leaves office at the end of his term. Charles Murray tops the list with "Coming Apart," about the separation of America's white working class from the elite.
Daniels fills his list with George Orwell's recollection of the Spanish Civil War and Candice Millard's account of former President James Garfield's assassination. And he peppers the final offering with some sports tales including a detailed account of game six of the 1975 World Series and a behind-the-scenes look at the Augusta National Golf Club.
