Carroll County passes wind ordinance

A 'proactive move' say commissioners

DELPHI, Ind. (WLFI) - The expansion of wind energy continues throughout our part of the state.

Carroll County is one step closer to bringing in wind energy.

County Commissioners unanimously approved the county's first wind energy ordinance.

The wording of the ordinance almost mirrors that of Benton, White and Clinton counties.

Carroll County Zoning Team Member Miriam Robeson says having the proper wording already set in place made her job easier.

"We wanted to be sure we had something in place to protect our county residents and we appreciate the work that White County and Benton County have done to put good language in place to protect the county," said Robeson.

Robeson said the biggest change in Carroll County's ordinance was extra wording to protect the county's waterways to make sure they would not be affected if and when wind energy came to town.
