INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Lt. Gov. Becky Skillman is calling on community leaders and businesses to apply for a chunk of $500,000 meant to help Hoosier innovators conserve more energy.

Skillman said Thursday the state's Office of Energy Development will accept applications for the federally funded grant until Nov. 15. Projects that promote energy efficiency, renewable energy and alternative fuel vehicle retrofits are all eligible for funding.

The state says applicants will have to raise their own capital to match the federal grant and could receive between $25,000 and $150,000 for each project.
