TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) - Wind turbines could help 'energize' Tippecanoe County's financial outlook.

Financial Advisor Greg Guerrettaz said wind farms could help boost revenues.  Guerrettaz met with the Commissioners and the Council this morning to discuss a long term financial plan.  Council President Kevin Underwood said wind turbines could have many benefits for the County.

"Obviously we are seeing those in the outlying areas around Tippecanoe County.  And, with the revenue situations being what they are it's good news potentially for the fact that we could see increase revenues to the County Government as a result of those coming in here," said Underwood.

"There is no doubt in the state of Indiana that there are two topics that are number 1.  Number 1 is efficiency, cutting expenses and number 2 raising more revenue.  And, raising more revenue is getting more and more interesting,"  said Guerrettaz.

Underwood said some energy companies are already talking to land owners in Tippecanoe County.  But, there is no formal development being considered yet.
