LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Francisco "Paco" Serrano, Chef and Owner at La Scala Italian Restaurant .

Why did you become a chef?
I was always interested in this. I like to eat and I like people so it was a natural step. I love owning my own business and creating a project that I am proud of.

What's your favorite thing to cook?
Seafood. I really enjoy the flavors

What's your favorite cooking tip?
Use great, fresh, and in season food! Quality ingredients are needed to create a great product.

What's your favorite thing to eat?
I am a big carnivore! My favorite item at the restaurant is Bistecca alla Pizzaiola.

Anything else you would want to share?
My wife and I have a small farm and she grows some of the produce we feature. We are very excited to be carrying more local, seasonal products.
