Theme of originality enjoyed by Shrek fans of all ages

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (Exponent) - Elliott Hall of Music brought bright green curtains up on a beloved children’s character Friday night.

The green, gruff but lovable ogre Shrek brought many young fans to campus. The Broadway production “Shrek the Musical” didn’t just attract children and their families, however. Shawn Ehlers, a graduate student in the College of Agriculture, was one of several college students who attended the show. Ehlers remembered the original story, which came out when he was in junior high, but was still excited to see the production.

“I think it will be a creative and fresh production of (the story),” Ehlers said, before the show.
