Students demand more action against racism at Purdue

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (Exponent) - Though a forum held in September helped recruit more people to address the issue, racism and segregation among ethnic and racial groups still exist at Purdue, according to the president of the Black Graduate Student Association.

The forum, which allowed student organizations to present a petition of demands to the administration, followed a racist incident that occurred in a Krannert library in September.

Tyrell Connor, president of the Black Graduate Student Association, said it helped to raise awareness but he’s at the point where the group needs to start seeing some action.
