Purdue events mark National Coming Out Day

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (Exponent) - Purdue will celebrate National Coming Out Day on Thursday with an information fair in the Purdue Memorial Union followed by a lecture in Loeb Playhouse.

University and community leaders will speak in support of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer community during the fair from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The fair will be held in the South Ballroom of the Union.

Bernadette Barton, an author and professor, will speak at 7:30 p.m. in Stewart Center’s Loeb Playhouse. Barton teaches sociology and women’s studies at Morehead State University and she studies the experiences of members of marginalized groups.
