WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (Exponent) - The one millionth dollar for Riley Children’s Hospital is expected to be raised at the Purdue University Dance Marathon this Saturday.
The Purdue Dance Marathon is an 18-hour fundraising event benefiting the kids at Riley Hospital for Children. About 1,400 students are expected to participate this year. PUDM is student run and any Purdue student can participate. This is the ninth year the dance marathon will take place. It is currently the largest philanthropy on campus.
Karlee Hepp, the president of PUDM, said a few things are changing this year. The dance marathon will be held at the new recreational facility instead of the armory, where it’s been held in years past. Each dancer is required to raise money to participate as well.
