WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (Exponent) - More than a half million dollars was raised for Riley Children's Hospital by Purdue University's Dance Marathon, it was announced this morning.
PUDM fundraising began before the event, but the total was announced today at the end of the 18-hour. More than 1,200 dancers participated in dance held at the Recreational Sports Center, allowing PUDM to continue to hold the title of largest philanthropy on campus.
The amount raised this year was announced at $528,654.67. PUDM raised $303,562.82 last year. The money is used to fund research and the needs of families being treated at Riley Hospital for Children.
